CAP SW WA STD Clinic Re-Opens
As of Tuesday, June 29th, 2021, CAP SW WA’s STD Clinic is re-open to the public after a 15 month hiatus. Cascade AIDS Project had been providing low-barrier full panel HIV/STI testing and treatment to the LGBTQ+ community in Vancouver for nearly a decade when COVID-19 hit. For our regular testing clients, and those who didn’t have access to a primary care provider or insurance, closing the STD Clinic meant they couldn’t get tested or treated anymore without a hassle and most likely a bill.
The current hours of operation are Tuesdays 10am-2pm. Just like pre-COVID, the clinic space is housed in CAP’s Vancouver office in downtown Vancouver (100 E 33rd St. Suite 201A), on the second floor of the PeaceHealth Memorial building. Unlike pre-COVID, we are scheduling testing appointments instead of taking walk-ins. Each appointment includes rapid HIV testing as well as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis screenings. In addition, clients will have access to safer sex supplies and/or a connection to PrEP if the client is interested. CAP continues to partner with Clark County Public Health for these testing services and treatment for chlamydia and gonorrhea. All of our services are free and confidential, and require no insurance.
We are thrilled to be able to offer these services again, and hopeful that we can continue to curb the spread of HIV and STDs. As always, CAP’s goal is to strengthen the health of the Vancouver community and show up for the folks who need us most.
If you are interested in a testing appointment, please sign-up below and a CAP staff will follow up with you.
About Cascade AIDS Project
CAP is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1985 as a grassroots response to the AIDS crisis. As the oldest and largest community-based HIV services provider in Oregon and southwest Washington, we seek to support and empower all people with or affected by HIV, reduce stigma, and provide the LGBTQ+ community with compassionate healthcare. We do so by helping to ensure the health and well-being of our program participants each year through health, housing, and other social services. When the need for affordable, accessible, and culturally affirming primary care services was identified as a community need, we responded by opening Prism Health in 2017.
