Creating Summer Camp Magic!
What is Camp KC?
Camp KC (Kids Connection!) is a fun and safe summer camp experience for children ages 5-15 who are living with and/or affected by HIV/AIDS. Camp KC is a free, week-long overnight camp located on the Oregon Coast that is supported by donations, grants, and approximately 50 volunteers. Some camp activities include swimming in the lake, arts and crafts, music and dance classes, nature hikes, canoeing on the lake, drama, and archery. Additionally, we have a ton of all-camp activities that typically occur in the evenings after dinner. These activities include a camp dance, a daytime carnival with games and prizes, a movie night outside, and Camp KC’s Got Talent (talent show). Campers and volunteers sign up to show the rest of Camp KC their talents, from singing and dancing to comedy and juggling. We love seeing everyone’s unique talents!

Camp Details
Camp KC has approximately a 1:1 ratio of adults to campers. This insures that the needs of our campers are consistently being met. Each cabin group is separated by age and gender, with 3 or more cabin counselors per cabin.
Camp KC has a behavioral health team, which consists of licensed professionals with a background in mental health, social work, and/or psychology, to provide additional support to campers who may be having a tough time being away from home, or who would benefits from more one-on-one interactions. The behavioral health team is also there to provide support to volunteers should there be a need for that as well.
Medical Services: Though we hope the need never arises, we do have a comprehensive medical staff at Camp KC for the entire week. Stationed at our Club MD cabin, these doctors and nurses have a background in pediatrics and experience with HIV. The Club MD team is in charge of all camper medications and medication schedules, and also provides help with any first aid needs.
