Following the results of the election, we know that many in our community are feeling a mix of uncertainty, disappointment, and fear about what the future holds. This outcome may feel particularly disheartening given the work of CAP, Our House, & Prism Health with some of the most vulnerable members of our community. 

Thousands gathered at Tom McCall Waterfront Park on September 28th to Stick It To Stigma in support of all those living with and affected by HIV & AIDS at the 2024 AIDS Walk Northwest!

Thanks to a generous $300,000 grant from KeyBank, we will be launching our new Healthcare Equity Advocate Program, a pivotal initiative designed to tackle disparities in healthcare access and outcomes for marginalized communities across Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Our new clinic, Prism Health | Morris, celebrated its grand opening ceremony on June 29th, 2024! The new clinic at 15 N Morris St. in Portland, OR will further expand access to our inclusive, affirming, high-quality health care.

Did you know that 1 in 5 LGBTQ+ people aren't registered to vote? And that Black and Latinx people are less likely to be registered than whites? As a health-focused organization, we believe that our community's well-being depends not only on our physical and mental health, but also our "civic health": the ability to influence the policies that affect our health and healthcare. That's why CAP is urging all eligible voters to make sure they're registered to vote and cast their ballots in the November 8 election!

This Black History and Black Futures month, we want to highlight the legacy of the new Prism Health Morris building and the historically Black Eliot neighborhood where it is located. The new location will make it possible for Prism Health to expand access to compassionate health care for all and to focus more explicitly on addressing the needs of Black community members and all people of color.

After a nearly 40-year career working in HIV services, Jim Clay is retiring from his position at Cascade AIDS Project. Jim conducted the initial needs assessment and created the program design for CAP's Aging Well Program, a nationally respected and locally beloved initiative that supports the well-being of older adults living with or affected by HIV. Jim has served as Manager of Aging Well Programming for more than six years.
