CAP Receives $5000 Grant from Bank of the West for Employment Assistance

CAP is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $5,000 grant from Bank of the West to help support our Employment Assistance program in Oregon.

CAP’s Employment Assistance program serves people living with HIV and members of the trans community regardless of HIV status. The program offers access to computers and printers, along with guidance from our Service Center Coordinator, so program participants can look for open positions, create resumes, and communicate with prospective employers. In addition, we offer limited financial assistance for job search-related expenses such as GED tests, ESL classes, and training to obtain a vocational license (e.g., esthetician license, commercial driver's license). By providing program participants with resources to get them connected to secure employment, our Employment Assistance program helps give them the stability and energy they need to address their complex health needs.

We are grateful to Bank of the West for this funding to further support those living with or HIV and our trans community who are facing unemployment and underemployment during this unprecedented time.
