We are excited to share that our new clinic, Prism Health | Morris, celebrated its official Grand Opening! The new clinic at 15 N Morris St. in Portland, OR further expands access to our inclusive, affirming, high-quality health care. We were proud to open our doors to this long-awaited location on Saturday, June 29th, surrounded by the joyful presence of our community.

This new health center will offer culturally responsive services—especially for BIPOC and frontline communities in this neighborhood that have often faced barriers to accessing quality care. Healthier people lead to healthier families, healthier communities, and a healthier, more inclusive Portland.
— Portland City Commissioner Carmen Rubio

The celebration was hosted by the fabulous Lala Benét, who kicked things off across from the clinic under Dawson Park’s iconic gazebo. CAP CEO Paul Lumley spoke to the importance and excitement of this occasion, and moving remarks were made by Sejal Hathi (Oregon Health Authority Director), Tawna Sanchez (Representative for Oregon's 43rd District ), Priya Helweg (US Dept of Health and Human Services Acting Regional Director for Region 10), and Carmen Rubio (Portland City Commissioner), who all shared their strong support for Prism Health | Morris and our mission of advancing health equity for the LBGTQ+ Community, those living with HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care.

Miguel Villarreal, CAP Board of Directors President, made things official by leading the ribbon cutting ceremony followed shortly thereafter with tours of the new clinic space to give community members a behind the scenes sneak peek. And to round out a beautiful day of community, attendees gathered together for great company, delicious food, and a moving performance by surprise guest Jimmie Herrod of Pink Martini!

As we strive to increase access to health care and social services for ALL communities in Portland, we know the creation of this safe place for LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals is of utmost importance. Congratulations to CAP for the years of work to get here!
— Project Access NOW

We want to offer a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to this moment and the many years of work leading up to the official opening of our new clinic. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the community members, funders, volunteers, and staff who came out to celebrate with us! Your continued support of our work in advancing health equity continues to shape our communities in such powerful ways, and we look forward to welcoming and serving our new neighbors and friends at the Prism Health | Morris!

About Cascade AIDS Project

Founded in 1983 and incorporated in 1985 as the Cascade AIDS Project, CAP is the oldest and largest community-based provider of HIV services, housing, education and advocacy in Oregon and Southwest Washington. We promote well-being and advance equity by providing inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ+ people, people affected by HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care. When the need for affordable, accessible, and culturally affirming primary care services was identified as a community need, we responded by opening Prism Health in 2017. And it 2022, Our House of Portland joined the CAP family to further expand our service offerings and allow us to offer a full lifecycle of care to our community.
