Bill Dickey Donates $50,000 To Support LGBTQ Clinic!
Portland, OR | May 11, 2016 - CAP was thrilled to announce at its 28th Annual Art Auction that Bill Dickey owner of Morel Ink and long-time CAP supporter will donate $50,000 in support of CAP’s recently unveiled lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) primary medical care clinic.
“Since we have announced this effort, I have been overwhelmed by the expressions of support from our community,” said CAP Executive Director Tyler TerMeer, “but Bill’s gift is very special. Bill has been an unwavering supporter of CAP since the very beginning. This significant gift will ensure that CAP is able to provide a new scope of services that a needed in the LGBTQ community.”
“This clinic is key to improving health outcomes for the LGBTQ community,” said Bill Dickey, “and I am proud to be the first to support this effort at this level. I encourage anyone who cares about the LGBTQ community to support Cascade AIDS Project in this effort!”
Slated to open in early 2017, the clinic will offer a safe, affirming, and non-judgmental space where all members of the LGBTQ community can obtain the compassionate and culturally effective health care they need and deserve. In addition to comprehensive primary care, it is anticipated that the clinic will offer specialized services for the transgender community, HIV and sexually transmitted disease testing, mental health care, and integrated pharmacy services.
