Celebrate National Latino AIDS Awareness Day at ¡Concientízate!

Portland, OR | October 13, 2015 - On Friday, October 16th Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) will commemorate National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD). NLAAD was established in 2003 to draw attention to the critical role HIV testing, prevention and education play in stemming the spread of HIV/AIDS among Hispanics/Latinos.

As part of the day’s events, CAP will host the 6th annual Concientízate: Festival de Música, Arte y Cultura on Friday, October 16 from 6:30pm to 11:30pm. This year’s celebration will be held at Refuge PDX located at 116 SE Yamhill St. Portland, OR. With local music from Bajo SalariosSalsanova and a special performance from Diana Gameros, art from five local Latino artists and more, this free all ages event is not to be missed!  The event will also feature free Latin-American inspired food from local food vendors (while supplies last) and a blessing from Danza Azteca group Mexica Tiahui and Chinelos Orgullo Morelense.  CAP will also offer free rapid HIV testing (with results in 20 minutes).

More information about the event can be found at www.pruebate.org/concientizate.
